• Dental Assisting

  Beside every dentist sits a skilled dental assistant; a dental assistant is an oral care professional who performs a variety of patient care, office, and lab duties. The Carrington College Dental Assisting associate degree and/or certificate program can help you learn the skills you need to perform a wide range of dental assistant duties in settings such as dental offices, hospitals, and clinics.

• Massage Therapy

  Massage therapists are professionals who offer safe, positive, healing touches. The Massage Therapy program offered at Carrington College strives to exceed the expectations of students so that they can one day exceed the expectations of their clients.

  The program includes extensive review of human anatomy and physiology, as well as various types of massage including Shiatsu, sports massage, Swedish massage and other manual and energetic therapies.

  Since many of our graduates aspire to build their own practice, the curriculum at Carrington College includes information related to the business of massage, such as basic management skills, accounting and marketing.

• Medical Assisting

  The duties of a medical assistant can vary from office to office, but as a graduate of the Carrington College Medical Assisting program, you can gain a valuable understanding of the clinical, laboratory and administrative responsibilities of a medical assistant. From drawing blood, to giving injections, to handling office admin tasks, our knowledgeable instructors teach our students their new skills through a combination of lab and classroom work, and valuable hands-on externship experience.

• Dental Hygiene

  A dental hygienist is a licensed dental health professional who provides patients with preventive, educational, and therapeutic services for the promotion of oral health. The Carrington College Dental Hygiene associate degree program can provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to offer patients dental hygiene care in settings like dental offices, clinics, and hospitals; opportunities can also exist in the research or marketing of dental products.

  Students of our Dental Hygienist degree program receive the hands-on dental hygiene training needed to help them succeed in a career as a dental hygienist.

• Diagnostic Medical Sonography

  Sonography is increasingly being used in the detection and treatment of heart disease, heart attack, and vascular disease. As a successful graduate of the Carrington College Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, you will undertake practical training on the specialized equipment used to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, and blood flow inside the body; these are the images are then used by doctors to make medical diagnoses. Carrington College prepares students to take the necessary registration exams; upon graduation, individuals can specialize in a variety of areas, including obstetric & gynecologic, abdominal, neuro-sonography, or breast sonography.

• Medical Billing and Coding

  A medical billing and coding professional can work in medical offices, clinics, and hospitals; they use their specialist skills to maintain accurate and organized medical documentation and patient records. The Carrington College Medical Billing & Coding associate degree and certificate can provide students who don't want to be involved in direct patient care, with the necessary skills to play an important role in the modern health care industry.

• Medical Office Management

  As a successful graduate of the Carrington College Medical Office Management associate degree program, you will be prepared for entry-level positions managing the day-to-day operations of medical businesses. The program provides courses that prepare those with prior allied health training for supervisory positions of higher responsibility in their health care field, or in related health care businesses.

• Pharmacy Technology

  The prescription drug industry is changing every day. With those changes comes a need for new, highly trained pharmacy technicians. At Carrington College, our Pharmacy Technology program incorporates pharmaceutical and medical terminology, abbreviations and symbols used in prescribing, and the dispensing and charting of medications. It also highlights the administrative skills and legal guidelines required to succeed in this competitive industry. Students can practice dispensing prescriptions and compounding medications in a mock pharmacy setting. Successful graduates of the program are prepared for careers in retail or hospital pharmacy settings. With all it has to offer, this program is the proverbial prescription for success.

• Physical Therapist Assistant

  A physical therapist assistant (PTA), supervised by a licensed physical therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients of all ages suffering with medical problems or conditions that limit their ability to perform normal daily activities. The Carrington College Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree can help you learn all the skills expected of an entry-level physical therapist assistant in a variety of health care settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, schools, sports facilities, and more.

• Veterinary Assisting

  The Carrington College Veterinary Assisting certificate program prepares students to perform a variety of tasks in a veterinary office, from clinical work, to the treatment of medical conditions, to office admin duties. Vet assistants perform lab tests, prepare blood and tissue samples, assist with dental care, and assist vets in a variety of other tests and procedures. Our veterinary assisting training program includes courses covering animal anatomy and physiology, nursing skills, animal surgical procedures, chemistry, animal restraint, and front office skills that include computer basics, telephone, and appointments.

Programmatic Accreditation Statement: Apollo College is seeking accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) of the American Physical Therapy Association (1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA 22314; accreditation@apta.org). The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Apollo College will submit an Application for Candidacy, which is the formal application required in the pre-accreditation stage. Submission of this document does not ensure that the program will be granted candidacy or accreditation status. Although the College plans to attain CAPTE accreditation status prior to the graduation of the first PTA program class, there is no guarantee that CAPTE will grant accreditation to the program. Graduation from an accredited program is required for licensure by all states currently licensing physical therapist assistants and for individual membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.
